Alucabond aluminum composite panels are designed to be weatherproof, impact-resistant and break-proof; however these panels do need proper maintenance, and if not maintained properly aluminum composite panels will require restoration or refinishing in order to retain the original intended appearance.

Environmental conditions including caulking runoff, pollutants in the air, oxidation, biological growth, precast leaching, window cleaning soap scum and other stain forming factors take a toll on the Alucabond finish, and eventually will cause stains that cannot be removed by standard cleaning procedures. Improper products used on the Alucabond panels or applied to adjacent architectural materials can also damage the surface.

After the Alucobond restoration, Presto has long-lasting protective treatments that will help to prevent the redevelopment of staining and damage to the Alucobond material. These protective treatments create an invisible surface layer that will protect the finish better than the original Alucobond finish - and in conjunction with proper maintenance - restoration should never be needed again.
